Description​

The DeskPi 10-inch 2U Dual Fan Cooling Panel (DR-0006) is an intelligent active thermal management module engineered for 10-inch server racks and enclosures, including the DeskPi RackMate T1 and RackMate T0.

Equipped with two 70 mm high-airflow axial fans, a front-panel digital temperature display, and an external NTC thermal probe, the unit dynamically throttles fan RPM based on internal cabinet temperatures, preventing hot spots and ensuring stable continuous operation for compute clusters and high-density NAS storage.

NTC Sensor Placement

  1. Power Input: Connect a certified DC 12V power adapter to the rear DC barrel jack.
  2. NTC Thermal Probe: Plug the NTC sensor probe into the sensor socket and route the lead toward your hottest equipment (such as SBC CPU heatsinks or storage drives).
  3. Note: If the NTC probe is not connected, the panel will default to manual fan mode.

Thermal Throttling Logic​

  • Below Close Temp: The fans stop completely for silent idle operation.
  • Between Close Temp and Warn Temp: Fan speed is modulated proportionally between minimum and maximum RPM to balance noise and thermal efficiency.
  • Above Warn Temp: Fans ramp immediately to 100% full speed, and the front digital display flashes to alert of thermal throttling.
